Acoustic Fluid Logger V

The Sage Acoustic Fluid Logger AFL V is a reliable and efficient wireless solution for determining the distance from the wellhead to the fluid level in the casing annulus of oil and gas wells. Utilizing advanced acoustic technology, the system delivers fast, accurate, and non-invasive fluid level measurements that are essential for well diagnostics and production optimization. Designed for field use, the AFL V combines robust hardware, wireless data acquisition, and powerful diagnostic software in a compact, easy-to-use system.

Technology Overview

An acoustic well logger operates by generating a controlled pressure pulse that travels down the annulus of the well. As the pulse propagates downward, it reflects from casing collars and the fluid surface. These returning echoes are detected by an integrated high-sensitivity microphone and converted into precise fluid level data using advanced signal processing techniques.

The Sage Acoustic Fluid Logger AFL V features:

  • A pressure pulse gas gun with an integrated microphone

  • A wirelessly operated data acquisition unit

  • Bluetooth data transmission to a Windows 11 based tablet or laptop

  • This configuration enables safe, convenient, and efficient operation directly at the wellhead.

Advanced Diagnostic Software

The AFL V diagnostic software automatically converts acoustic signals into a clear and easy-to-interpret chart with automatic fluid level identification.

  • Key software capabilities include:

  • Automatic fluid level detection

  • Comprehensive fluid level reports with screenshots and detailed measurement data

  • Trend analysis and overlay functions for long-term well performance evaluation

  • Structured data archive for quick access to historical measurements

Reports can be edited, printed, and saved as data files, or distributed electronically as PDF documents. Raw measurement data can also be exported to Excel for further analysis.
